the Englische Garten in Munich, you'll find naked sunbathers on the lawn called Schoenfeldwiese.

In Berlin’s biggest public park, the Tiergarten, you will also find various areas where sunbathing in the nude is allowed.

General attitude towards social nudityEdit

Historically very accepting of social nudity but depends on area. A person walking down a city street in Germany could still be arrested and fined.

Germany is where the modern nudist moment started at the end of the 19th century which they called FKK. It stands for Freikoerperkultur ("free body culture"). It is less popular in Western than Eastern Germany.

Germans from the former East think westerners are kind of uptight. Communism had nothing against nudity, and after the Wall fell, there were bitter clashes between easterners and westerners who disagreed about where it was okay to be naked on beaches along the Baltic Sea.

In recent years, public nudity is becoming less and less common throughout Germany.
