[edit] Election sign project

[edit] Seattle

The Naturist Action Committee is working with the Body Freedom Collaborative on a Seattle-area project that we hope will generate good discussion publicly about nude beaches. It involves our waving what looks like political campaign signs on busy street corners. The sings say "Nude Beaches YES" and have box with a large check marked in it. A URL at the bottom directs people to NudeBeachesYES.org where folks will learn some basics about nude beaches. The idea is to use crafty humor to get people to think there might be some vote to be cast pertaining to nude beaches. Won't THAT shake some people up?

Yep! And they'll go to the Web site and learn about nude beaches. And THAT's where we get to begin the open, public discussion.

Want to join in on the fun? It's legal and costs nary a thing. Be on the lookout in the next few days for times and locations to meet in or near Seattle. Someone from BFC will be there with signs, and we'll simply carry them out to a busy street corner, wave them like idiots, receive the applause and adulation from passersby, and get people to thinking about nude beaches.

If you're interested, feel free to contact Mark Storey or Daniel Johnson using the e-mail address on the BFC contact page or use the contact e-mail given above.

Don't let the suits win! Down with the suits!

[edit] History

The project was initiated by Seattle-based Body Freedom Collaborative (BFC) (official site) and is currently a collaborative project of The Naturist Action Committee (NAC). One of its first projects was the launch of a mock election campaign, beginning in November of 2006, utilizing events where local skinny dippers go around town with political yard signs. This was done in conjunction with the creation of an official Web site http://NudeBeachesYES.org.
