A clothing optional day retreat spa which has the feeling of a Japanese hot springs and features therapeutic massage therapy and hydrotherapy. The spa is on 6.5 secluded, private acres in the Snohomish countryside. The Hydrotherapy Circuit is clothing optional and features Kneipp Therapy. Part of the Hydrotherapy Circuit is outside on a beautiful private deck. While bathing in a jetted warm or hot pool you can gaze at soaring cedar trees or unwind on a teak deck chair next to life-size Buddhas. Cool down in a 62 degree redwood Alaskan cold plunge. Inside, the Hydrotherapy Circuit includes a eucalyptus chromotherapy steam room. Showers, keyless security lockers and sarongs and towels are provided. Complimentary snacks, beverages, ice cream, and warm chocolate chip cookies are offered. Hours of operation are Wednesday - Sunday, 11am to 8pm. Women's day is Thursdays. Men's day is Saturdays. Coed days are Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Everyday is clothing optional. Couples and single men and women are welcome on coed days. The massage rooms are in a different portion of the spa than the clothing optional Hydrotherapy Circuit so both sexes are welcome to come for a massage each day. Freedomites, also called Svobodniki or Sons of Freedom They were Russian immigrants who settled in British Columbia in the turn of the 20th century. A sub-sect of the Doukhobors they were known throughout the first half of the 20th century for occasionally holding fully nude both gender public protests against government policies.
The Home Colony This was an utopian anarchist community on the Key Peninsula in Washington state from 1895 to 1919. Nude bathing was popular with the residents which led to trouble with their conservative neighbors. A member of the community Jay Fox, had a community paper called "The Agitator" in which he wrote an editorial defending this practice called "Nudes and Prudes" for which he was arrested and jailed for two months for.
