I have added the information regarding the Pagan Summerstar Gathering due to the fact that it does have a Skyclad Ritual.
Skyclad Rituals are non-sexualized.
But here is what they say about the Gathering in general.
"We are also a relationship positive gathering. This does not mean that we engage in open and explicit gratification of our natural urges, instead we are proud of our ability to freely and without shame find connection with our partner(s) and loved ones. We honor and value the personal choices made by our brothers and sisters as they seek a greater connection with the spirit(s) of their choice.
As for our children we leave the questions regarding pro-creation, sexual activity and choice of partners up to parents to discuss with their children. Some of us have a more conservative approach, while some of us are more liberal. We offer workshops and discussions for parents who are just now exploring their relationship with the Gods, and what this means in terms of evolving tribal and family values, alternative relationships, meaning personally defined and actualized relationships, and ways of exploring a frank openness about their own sexual choices with their children"
So again, while the skyclad ritual is non-sexualized I can't really vouch for the sexual climate of the Gathering as a whole. I assume they keep the sexual stuff separated but I would suggest that the event organizers be contacted if there is any concern to find out what one might expect.
- The following text orginally comes from here: User talk:64.40.60.55 Dlj 02:36, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Is nudity or topfreedom allowed at this event anywhere? Cheeers, Dlj 01:01, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- I wasn't sure. That is why I didn't put it up as a nude event but instead as something of common interest to those who would be interested in nude events.
- I think it is kind of like Burning man in the respect that while not everyone goes nude there, topless women wouldn't be uncommon. But again I am not sure on that.
- By the way, why do you include Burning man events on this Wiki when you said you want the nude event to be non-sexualized? While sure, there are people there who go nude in a non-sexualized matter there are lots of people at Burning Man who are very sexualized with their nudity.
- Is see that makes sense. I'm also putting up major public events that might draw people away from clothing-optional events, I've been burned too many times when people telll me I made a mistake to have an event on a certain weekend because of conflicts.
- Burning Man is not a a sexual event by definition. A lot of burners are involved in activities in Seattle and I don't want overt conflicts with regional events or the main Burning Man event unless the event is such that few Burners would probably participate anyway.
- Thanks for your contributions. Have you thought about creating an account here so you are not anonymous? Cheers! Dlj 21:51, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- Burning man is sexualized. They have BDSM displays and women going around wearing didios and such. Sure they also have non-sexualized nudity but there is lots of sexualized nudity around as well.
- What would you suggest here? Dlj 23:13, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- Just do like what I did with the Shambhala Music Festival. It is a date that people who might be interested in nonsexualized nudity might be interested in but it isn't an event that you can label as nonsexualized family friendly nudity. Just put the event in gray.
- by the way http://www.moderngonzo.com/more/shambala.html this guy said he witnessed clothing-optional dipping at the river at the festival. Would that be a confirmation that this event is nudity friendly?
- I would say it confirms it. Cheers, Dlj 02:36, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I removed the gray from that event, but I really think you should put burning man events in gray due to the sexualized nature of some of the activity that goes on there.
- Hmmm.... we may need another category?

[edit] Categories for free-spirited events
The suggestion has been made to put some events like Burning Man in a different category because there is both non-sexualized and sexualized nudity going on. What do people think? Dlj 03:33, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Here is my idea
- One category for events sponsored by nudist groups.
- One category for nonsexualized nudity events not officially sponsored by nudist groups but by individual nudists (such as nude movie night).
- One category for public events where non sexualized nudity or topfree is traditional (eg Fremont parade, Oregon Country Fair)
- One category where nuditification (unexpected nudity) will take place (World Naked Bike Ride).
- One category for Burning man and like events where sexualized as well as non-sexualized nudity might take place.
- One category for events where it has been reported that nonsexualized either partial (top free) or total nudity has taken place in the past (Events with no formalized nudity rule but in the past nudity has been sighted and tolerated)
- One category for pagan events where nonsexualized skyclad rituals take place.
- One category for art performances where nonsexualzed nudity will take place.

- Briefly, these all look like good ideas. I think I have an idea of how to implement this without making the page look like cluttered chaos... give me some time here. 19:47, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Does this count as a Body Positive Event?
If so please add it.

[edit] Nude Year's Eve Party at the Willies
I wasn't sure exactly how to put it up on the calendar since you don't have any Dec 06 Events
http://www.willamettans.com/gpage3.html
-
OK. Just check out the markup/code. I'll do it right now....Dlj 19:48, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, I see what you mean Dec '06 not Dec 06. Yeah, the page doesn't have any 06 events, if you want to build such a page then link it that's fine of course. I put the event mentioned in the 2007 Dec month though. This is going to get a lot easier once this year is filled out, then all we have to do is cut and paste, modify the dates more or less for 2008, and then archive the 2007 page to a new wiki page. [edit] This event seems to fall kind of on the line
I don't know if this event would be appropriate or not. It's not a family event. And it will probably be 'sexualized' but no more so than you would find Critical Massive or Burning man.
But you decide. If I had to decide I would say no, not appropriate but I decided to put it up in this part just in case you disagree.
Red, White and Nude July 25, 2008 Come with as little on as possible w/ Special Guest: Noize and Burlesque Performance by Sinner Saint Burlesque. Event begins at 9 and you have to have ID proving you are 21 (which suggests this might fall outside of the line we are talking about here, or perhaps the main reason for that is that the serve alcohol).
