On Saturday, the 9th of September, the French naturist club "Originelle" from Lille took part to the World Naked Gardening Day together with the French Naturist Federation Nature and Environment Commission local deputy. In the early afternoon, on this glorious sunny day, members the club met in this beautiful, if informal, walled back garden situated in the city of Tourcoing, a town north of Lille next to the Belgian border. Whilste a team took care of a fence along the path leading to the rear of the garden, other people worked on the flower beds and vegeteble areas, digging, cutting, cleaning and planting. Last but not the least the lawn was mowed short to give the final touch ! Afterwhat, and after some spouses of the day gardeners joined the group, the hostess of the place circulated welcomed snacks and local beers on the terrasse where we also enjoyed a nice late afternoon naked sun bathing.

On Sunday, Dominique, our hostess, send an e-mail "When I got up this morning and had a look at my garden from the kitchen window, I couldn't but be amazed at both the light coming through and the quietness of the place. I really could feel the garden breathing!"

No need to say we all shared with delight this unique experience to achieve, naked, something in common in such a preserved place a garden can be.

No doubt the number of participants is going to enlarge for the event next year... Yes, our club has already put the next World Naked Gardening Day on its diary !!!

I would be carried away or eaten alive by biting flies if I tried naked gardening around here! ARGH!
