The following places in Washington have seen some nude use and may continue to see nude use.

Daniel Johnson and company used this beach nude in Summer 2006. It is assume others have as well as it is fairly remote.

Make sure to check for other park users before stripping down. During late spring and early summer school groups of young children use the park for week-long school field trips/retreats.

This may have been one of the first official nude beaches in Washington State. Skinny dipping is still occasionally enjoyed along the Western shore.

Potholes Reservoir Edit

There are many areas in the potholes area near Moses Lake that lend themselves to nude use for swimming or sun bathing.   Eastbound on I-90 should exit at Hiawatha Valley (West of Moses Lake) and turn left (East) onto the South Frontage Road.  Turn South into the potholes resevoir area where the large powerlines cross the road.  After traveling about two to three miles the road forks.  Access to the reservoir may be had on either fork.  The entire area is readily accessible to those with kayaks or canoes, and many locations suitable for nude sun bathing are within walking distance of the road.  This area also affords great fishing and bird watching and with the lake being a reservoir, the water level changes throughout the season which can change the scenery week by week.  A GPS can be useful to find your way back through the ever changing maze of waterways and sand islands.  Bring bug spray as this area can have a lot of mosquitoes at times.

Columbia River GorgeEdit

Across the river to the east of present day Vantage, is an open, public hiking, climbing and camping area, as well as a boat launch. Nude sunbathing is fairly common in the area, particularly on a beach a couple hundred yards South (downstream direction) of the boatlaunch. Many opportunities for nude hiking as well in the area, on both sides of the river.

A guy named Jake posted on a Tribe.net group that he goes nude hiking and swimming at China Lake in Tacoma. China Lake is inside the city so it is hard to believe that this would be a good place to go, but according to him he rarely runs into other people. Map to Park[1]

Point Wells or Peter PointEdit

The location of the beach area known as Peter Point (male anatomy reference?), sometimes referred to as Point Wells is located in Woodway, WA, although Point Wells [6] proper is located in Shoreline. The beach used map is north of Richmond Beach Park in Shoreline, and south of Edmonds Beach in Edmonds. Illegal to access by land. To get to the beach, people trespass on property owned by either the railroad or the petroleum company. [7] Accessible by boat/kayaking. Fairly well visited. World Naked Beach Party was held there by a small group in 2005. The Sounder commuter trains that bring Seattle workers north to Edmonds and Everett have brought more attention to this beach since the route began in August of 2004. Riders have obstruction-free views of anybody using the beach. Technically, the beach is private property, and the owner can't reach the beach because the tracks are private property. [8]

Gay-beach reputationEdit

By some accounts, the beach has been frequented by gay men since the 1930s. Many hetero men, women and teenagers have also used the beach nude with no conflicts reported. [9]. Has a reputation for some gay cruising and sexual activities behind the bushes. It has been claimed that the middle section is hetero and way south end is gay.

Woodway Police Chief Doug Hansen said he's been aware of naked men on the beach all 20 years he's worked for Woodway, but more have been seen in the past five years.

Police occasionally team up with Edmonds Police and Snohomish and King county deputies to shoo nude sunbathers off of the beach, Hansen said.

Police officers said men contacted on the beach are mostly from King County and other counties (ostensibly because gays don't live in Snohomish county), Hansen said. Their reaction to police enforcement ranges from "openly hostile to embarrassed," he said.

Nude sunbathing and trespassing on private property are against the law, he said. Tickets are seldom issued and officers prefer to give warnings.

Dogfish point is a good nude beach but be careful on the tracks, you dont want to get hit by a train.

BellinghamEdit

Birch Bay/Blaine area Hidden Beach is located between Sandy point beach and Cherry point beach Its a short walk and easier to access from Sandy point side. Walk on trail past(under the dock)

Lake PaddenEdit

In 2004 the Bellingham Weekly mentioned in their Best of Bellingham that there are skinny-dipping spots in the trees on the far side of the lake. [10]

Point RobertsEdit

Lily Point - "Buff Bluff" beach

Formerly a summer village site of the Lummi Nation, Lily Point was recently dedicated as a Whatcom County marine park and is located at the southeast corner of Point Roberts, which is at the northwest corner of Washington State accessible by boat from the U.S. or by land through Tsawwassen in Canada.

Take Tyee Dr. south from the U.S.\Canada border crossing, turning left and heading east on Apa Rd. until it ends. Follow the long trail down to the beach and then turn left, heading north back along the shore. Best nude use area is past the old wooden pilings near the tan coloured cliff face known as "Buff Bluff" which faces east towards Boundary Bay and the Salish Sea. Natural erosion of this tall sandstone wall continually adds fresh sand to this sensitive marine ecosystem providing a comfortable beach front. Great for Yankees and Canucks alike with very few walkers and even fewer gawkers! One of the best places in the Pacific Northwest to watch bald eagles, especially in late spring.

Peoples ParkEdit

Sections of beach along Hangman's Creek, at it's convergence with the Spokane River, have a long history of clothing optional use. In recent years nude use has moved eastward, further up Hangman's Creek, where vegetation and shoreline provide greater privacy. Periodic checks by law enforcement, mostly to enforce county alcohol ordinances, are a possibility. People's Park is a county facility, with limited amenities and no bathrooms. The park itself is fairly isolated for being so close to the downtown area; it is bordered on the south & west by Riverside Drive, on the east by the Spokane River and on the north by a bluff, atop which sits a cemetery. Usage on a typically warm summer weekend day would be 10-20 nude or partially nude users.====

Note: As of 2000 the city started handing out tickets for nudity here. The city intends to turn the park into a kayak play ground and dog park. Those who would like to nude sunbathe should be polite and ask others near them if they mind. Odds are that it will be fine as most know the parks reputation. But setting up some kind of barrier so as not to be seen by those on the trail would be helpful. There is also a large man made pool on the river here, built during the Worlds Fair in 1974.

If you would like to see this spot become clothing optional, or leased as a nudist spot, contact the Spokane City council.

As 2009 has seen a drastic reduction in state and city revenues contacting the above may have a surprising outcome!

Tell them that you would visit Spokane more often. That you would be willing to help clean the park while visiting, as the city doesn't take care of the park except for picking up the trash in the cans.

as of 3/12/2011 if you are seen nude or even topless for the women, you WILL be given a ticket or maybe even worse. So please be very careful if you want to try this area.
